Pharmaceutical companies and government meet to purchase medicines for 2025-2026

Representatives of the National Chamber of the Pharmaceutical Industry (Canafirma) and the Mexican Association of Pharmaceutical Research Industries (AMIIF) participated in the meetings.

On behalf of the federal government, the meetings were led by the head of the SFP, Raquel Buenrostro; as well as the Undersecretary of Integration and Development of the Health Sector, Eduardo Clark; the director of the Biological and Reagent Laboratories of Mexico, SA de CV, Iván Olmos, and the undersecretary of Public Administration, Alejandro Encinas Nájera.

According to the SFP, at the meeting the government committed to “carry out a purchasing process that adheres to the law and free of influence, offering an advance planning scheme, spaces for dialogue and mechanisms for solving specific problems to guarantee certainty and transparency in the process.”

The pharmaceutical sector promised to offer competitive prices and exchange data and statistics to identify and resolve possible bottlenecks in the medicines logistics chain, as well as share information to detect improper practices.
