PGR sends the STF a favorable opinion on unblocking the X in Brazil

The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) sent this Tuesday (8) to Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), a favorable opinion on the unblocking of the social network X in Brazil.PGR sends the STF a favorable opinion on unblocking the X in Brazil

The PGR’s request for a statement was requested by the minister after the company paid a fine of R$28.6 million to resume operations.

In the opinion, the prosecutor’s office claims that there are no further pending issues that would prevent the platform from returning.

On August 30, Moraes took X offline after the company closed its office in Brazil and no longer had a legal representative in the country, a mandatory condition for any firm to operate.

Billionaire Elon Musk, owner of the social network, announced the closure of the company’s headquarters in Brazil after the network was fined for refusing to comply with the order to remove profiles of those investigated by the Court for publishing messages considered anti-democratic.

However, representation was reactivated in recent weeks, and lawyer Rachel Villa Nova returned to be the network’s legal representative. With the reopening of the representation and the payment of the fine, X asked the minister to return to the air.
