The Attorney General of the Republic, Paulo Gonet, asked the Federal Police (PF) to evaluate the allegations from social network X about profiles of those investigated who circumvent blocking orders determined by Minister Alexandre de Moraes.
The statement was sent this Thursday (5) to the Federal Supreme Court (STF) within the scope of the investigation involving billionaire Elon Musk, investigated in the Court for the crime of obstruction of justice. It will be up to the minister to authorize the PGR’s request.
In April of this year, the PF sent Moraes a report and indicated that investigated users who had their profiles blocked continue to carry out live broadcasts and interactions with Brazilian users on the social network.
According to the investigation, it was possible to access broadcasts made by users from Brazil and follow blocked profiles.
In the PF’s assessment, those investigated continue to broadcast and post attacks on the minister and disseminate false information.
According to social network X, users are circumventing the platform’s blocking and security measures. Journalist Allan dos Santos is among those cited for violating the measures. He moved to the United States after being investigated in Brazil.
Last week, Alexandre de Moraes determined the suspension of the social network X. The measure was taken after the end of the 24-hour deadline given by the minister to Elon Musk, owner of the social network, to indicate a legal representative in Brazil.
On August 17, Musk announced the closure of the company’s headquarters in Brazil after the social network was fined for refusing to comply with the order to remove profiles of those investigated by the Court for publishing messages considered antidemocratic and with content offensive to members of the STF.
