The Federal Police (PF) and the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) served today (7), five search and seizure warrants in São Pedro da Aldeia, in the Lagos Region of Rio de Janeiro. The PF informed that all are related to the investigation that investigates the performance of anti-democratic acts, based on “the continuous incitement of the Armed Forces to promote an institutional rupture in the country through a military coup/intervention”.
According to investigations, the targets of the warrants were carrying firearms of large caliber, without registration. The objective, according to the PF, was the intention of armed conflict and the fear of political opponents.
“The investigated will respond, to the extent of their participation, for crimes of criminal association, incitement to crime and violent abolition of the Democratic State of Law, all of the Penal Code, and for illegal possession of a firearm, in addition to other crimes that may arise in the course of investigations.
Also according to the PF, the investigation is not directly related to the attacks on the headquarters of the Palácio do Planalto, the National Congress and the Federal Supreme Court, which took place on January 8, 2023.
“The Federal Police and the Federal Public Ministry will continue the investigation in order to investigate and identify the scope of the group, as well as the involvement of other people”, he concluded.
