Luis Pettengill, a businessman and sports leader, announced on 730 AM that he is concerned that the two positions within the Colorado Party are radicalizing.
“No matter who wins, the subsequent union will not happen. We would not want what happened in 2008 to happen to us. It is very likely that the Colorado Party will lose the general elections after very bloody internal elections”, he warned.
He affirmed that the political class is so discredited that looking for a third candidate there would not be the best option.
“I will not launch my candidacy yet. A third candidate could be worse. There are many movements that approached me, but I really think that what we want is to add and not increase the chaos. It does not seem to me well intentioned that a third movement appears. At the moment, it doesn’t seem like the way to me,” he said.
The businessman established June 20 as the deadline to define his political future. Day that is the last to make inscriptions.
“Between June and December there is a lot of time to carry out campaigns. The concertation has not yet started the campaigns either, since if they started now they would be very long. I do not belong to the political establishment, but from the private part we always carry out our collaboration. No one wants to go live elsewhere. The Colorado Party is the one with the most expectations”, he stated.
He finally said that he would like to become a candidate with the support of the two most important groups in the ANR (officialism and Chartism).
