Caixa announced today (17) measures to support residents of Petrópolis, a mountain region in Rio de Janeiro, hit by heavy rains in recent days.
The bank ordered the dispatch of an agency truck and a team of specialists in the areas of Housing, Government and FGTS to serve the population and provide technical support to the city hall.
Among the measures are the release of the FGTS Calamity Loot to residents of the affected regions, special conditions for the payment of housing financing, facilitated analysis for triggering Caixa Seguridade insurance, pause in financing for hospitals, in addition to identification of projects and public works. in a critical situation, for the performance of public authorities.
FGTS withdrawal
Part of the residents of Petrópolis are already authorized to request o FGTS Calamity Withdrawal, until May 2. Residents of the new affected areas, according to addresses to be identified by the municipal Civil Defense, may also request the withdrawal.
The bank informed that it will assist the municipality in sending all the necessary documentation for the “timely” authorization of the FGTS Calamity Sack.
Agency truck
According to the bank, the arrival date of the agency truck depends on the conditions of access to the site. The mobile service unit will work from 8 am to 4 pm.
The truck offers the same services as an agency, such as assistance to beneficiaries of Auxílio Brasil, salary bonus and FGTS. Cash handling will be available through an ATM installed in the vehicle.
Housing Contracts
Caixa also informed that it allows for a break of up to 90 days in housing financing contracts in the affected regions, upon request. It will also be possible to incorporate the installments into the debit balance of delinquent customers in the affected regions.
The bank also said that it will support customers in triggering housing insurance and procedures for payment of indemnities, immediately.
Social habitation
According to the bank, teams of architects, engineers and technicians will be sent to the region to provide the necessary support to the affected social housing and to adopt the necessary measures.
According to Caixa, the Petrópolis City Hall Works Department will have technical support to survey damages and estimate costs for the recovery of works in progress or affected buildings, such as bridges, access roads, water supply, health posts. and schools, among others.
