The Petroperú company reported that the Norperuano Pipeline (ONP) suffered a new attack after verifying six cuts made in the vicinity of the Adelino Ribera community in the Barranca district, Datem del Marañón province (Loreto).
As detailed by Petroperú in a statement, early today, July 29, the existence of six new cuts was verified at kilometer 235 of Section I of the Norperuano Pipeline (ONP), adding a new contingency that put neighboring populations at risk. and to the environment.
“Despite the geographical difficulties of the Amazon, PETROPERÚ personnel arrived in the area and worked throughout the morning, temporarily blocking the pipeline, as well as placing barriers to prevent the crude from expanding and remaining contained in the flotation channel. /containment, in accordance with its Contingency Plan”Petroperu noted.
It was added that the corresponding complaints are being made, as well as the reports to the supervisory entities. “Since February 13, section I of the ONP has been prevented from resuming its crude oil transportation activity and has been paralyzed to be able to attend to these contingencies, which add up to a total of nine events in the last seven months, which has meant 43 outages caused by actions of third parties”added the company.
