In the midst of the crisis in which it remains, Petroperu confirmed that Rita López Saavedra will continue as general manager in charge of the oil company, after she presented her letter of resignation from the position a few days ago.
This information had already been advanced by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Denisse Miralles, who in statements with Peru21 He reported that last Wednesday they would have a meeting with the official and the president of the state company to analyze some issues.
Through a statement, the oil company indicated that López Saavedra’s permanence occurs within the framework of the comprehensive reorganization process aimed at strengthening management and recovering the operational and financial sustainability of the public company.
“In this context, the strengthening of the management team is being promoted, with the aim of ensuring leadership aligned with the priorities of the reorganization process. To this end, coordination is carried out with the National Fund for Financing State Business Activity (Fonafe) aimed at adapting the applicable regulations, in order to optimize the appointment processes and allow, when appropriate, the incorporation of external professionals under technical and meritocracy criteria,” the document stated.
Likewise, he indicated that the MEF, the Ministry of Energy and Mines, Proinversión, the oil company’s board of directors and management will continue working on the challenge of making the state company sustainable again.
Although the official’s declaration of interest has not yet been posted on the Petroperú portal, the company did highlight that she is a career employee and highlighted her experience in strategic management, planning and economic-financial analysis.
