Through Supreme Decree No. 022-2025-EM, the Executive Branch ordered the extension of the license contract of Petroperu for the exploitation of Lot Z-69, an asset in the northwest that the state company has operated since November 2023.
This measure guarantees the continuity of operations until May 2026 or until a new agreement is reached with another operator.
The rule establishes that Petroperú must prove a minimum audited production of 3,045 barrels per day in the last month of the contract, as well as adapt the current royalty scheme.
The signing of the contract took place at the Perupetro facilities and was attended by the general manager of Petroperú, José Manuel Rodríguez Haya and the general manager of Perupetro, Carlos Pantigoso Andonaire, as well as officials from both companies.
“The expansion of the operation of lot Z-69 will allow maintaining royalty income and other benefits derived from hydrocarbon activity. Likewise, continue production for the benefit of the Piura region and the country,” said José Manuel Rodríguez Haya.
