Petrobras Shareholders’ General Meeting, held this Friday (19) in digital format, elected, by majority, eight new names to compose the company’s Board of Directors. Of the total number of approved members, Caio Mario Paes de Andrade has been the company’s current president since last June.
The names of the Executive Secretary of the Civil House, Jônathas Assunção Salvador Nery de Castro, and the Attorney General of the National Treasury, Ricardo Soriano de Alencar, previously considered ineligible by the Petrobras Eligibility Council, were also approved. For the collegiate, there was a conflict of interests for the two, appointed by the controlling shareholder, the Union, to occupy a seat on the collegiate, at the same time they held positions in the federal government.
The others approved are: Marcelo Gasparino da Silva; José João Abdalla Filho; Edison Antonio Costa Britto Garcia; Gileno Gurjão Barreto, who will chair the Board of Directors; and Ieda Aparecida de Moura Cagni. The shareholders’ meeting rejected two names nominated by the federal government: Márcio Andrade Weber and Ruy Flaks Schneider.
The reinclusion of Jônathas Assunção Salvador Nery de Castro and Ricardo Soriano de Alencar in the list of names for the Petrobras Board of Directors was ratified by official letters from the Ministries of Economy and Mines and Energy, sent to the company on the 11th and 15th of this month.
