Petrobras sets new record in pre-salt oil processing

The result surpasses the previous mark of 73%, recorded in June last year.Petrobras sets new record in pre-salt oil processing

According to the Brazilian state-owned company, between January and August 2024, pre-salt processing also reached a record, reaching 69%. In the same period in 2023, this figure was 66%.

According to the Petrobras note, the record reflects the optimization of assets and the application of innovative technologies. The text highlights that pre-salt oil has a high yield of medium derivatives, enabling greater production of aviation kerosene (QAV) and diesel. In addition, its high paraffinicity leads to superior quality diesel and its low sulfur content contributes to a more sustainable refining activity.

“In August, the best result of the year was also recorded in the Refinery Utilization Factor (FUT), reaching the 95% mark, demonstrating the high operational performance of Petrobras’ refining park and the integration with the company’s logistics and marketing areas”, adds the state-owned company.
