Petrobras informed this afternoon (1st) that it does not anticipate fuel readjustment decisions and highlighted that there is no decision taken by its Executive Market and Prices Group (GEMP) that has not yet been announced to the market.
Earlier, on a visit to the city of Anguillara Veneta, Italy, President Jair Bolsonaro told the press that he knew “unofficially” that a new raise of fuels is being planned by Petrobras for 20 days from now.
“Petrobras, in relation to news published in the media regarding expectations of new readjustments in fuel prices, clarifies that product price adjustments are made in the normal course of its business and follow its current commercial policies,” the statement says. .
The state-owned company added that it reiterates its commitment to the practice of competitive prices and in balance with the market, “while avoiding the immediate transfer of external and exchange rate volatility caused by cyclical events.”
The company also highlighted that it continuously monitors the markets, which includes, among other procedures, the daily analysis of the behavior of its prices in relation to international quotations.
