Petrobras reduces aviation gasoline price

Petrobras has net income of BRL 31 billion in the third quarter

Petrobras announced today (29) a 15.7% reduction in the value of aviation gasoline for sale to distributors. It is the second straight drop in the price of fuel, which is generally used in small aircraft that have spark-ignition engines. At the beginning of the month, there was a reduction of 5.7%.Petrobras reduces aviation gasoline price

The new value takes effect from Wednesday (1st). According to a note released by Petrobras, the updates are monthly and defined through a contractual formula negotiated with the distributors.

“They follow the variations in the value of the product and the exchange rate, up and down, with adjustments applied on a monthly basis, mitigating the daily volatility of international quotations and the exchange rate”, says the note.

The state-owned company also emphasizes that it does not have a monopoly on the marketing of the product and that the Brazilian market is open to free competition. Distributors and resellers, who are responsible for airport facilities and aircraft fueling services, can purchase fuel from other producers or importers.

Three days ago, the Petrobras also announced a reduction in aviation kerosene prices. Used in airplanes and helicopters equipped with turbine engines, it is the most demanded fuel in air transport. The drop, of 10.4%, also starts to take effect from Wednesday (1st).
