Petrobras confirmed on Friday (14) new oil accumulation in the lower area to the main reservoir of Campo de Buzios, in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin. The volume was identified by testing at a depth of 5,600 meters.
According to a statement issued by the company, the inspection was used electrical profiles generated by probe introduced in new drilling, to identify geological and hydrological characteristics. The generated material is still under analysis by Petrobras laboratories.
The note clarifies that “the consortium of the shared deposit of Buzios, formed by Petrobras as an operator (88.98%participation), in partnership with CNOOC (7.34%) and CNPC (3.67%), with PREAL PETROLEO SA (PPSA) as a manager, will continue the analysis of the results for continuity of activities in the area “.
Average annual production
According to the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), the average annual oil and natural gas production was, in 2024, 4.322 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (Boe/D). Of these, 3.358 million barrels per day (BBL/D) of oil were produced.
About 78% of this production comes from pre-salt layer reservoirs, a training located between a thousand and 6,000 meters deep below sea level. The Buzios Campo is considered the largest in the world in ultra -evidence waters and is located in Rio de Janeiro, 189 kilometers from the coast. It operates with large -scale production since March 2015, and last year has exceeded 1 billion oil barrels produced in March.
According to the ANP oil and natural gas production bulletin, in 2024, the production of the field of Buzios increased by 2.40% compared to the year 2023, representing 19.53% of maritime production.
