Petrobras announced the creation of a working group to review the internal procedures for receiving and handling allegations of harassment and sexual harassment against women. According to the state-owned company, this group must present the results of the diagnosis and immediate measures by the 20th of this month.
The company’s new management reported that the procedures for protecting whistleblowers and applying punishments will be reviewed, as well as the attributions of the areas responsible for investigating the cases. Actions will also be proposed to raise awareness and prevent harassment throughout the company.
The group will be coordinated by the executive manager of Health, Environment and Safety, Daniele Lomba, who will report directly to the Executive Board and will have representatives from administrative and operational areas. Through these records, the company will be able to take the appropriate measures to determine and apply sanctions and reinforces its commitment to the protection of victims and privacy and acceptance of complaints.
Petrobras also released a reporting channel for employees who have gone through or are experiencing situations of sexual harassment.
