Petrobras concluded the conditions for transferring the operation of the onshore oil and gas production fields at the North Pole Capixaba to the company Seacrest Petróleo SPE Norte Capixaba Ltda, a subsidiary of Seacrest Bermuda Limited. According to a statement released yesterday (12) by the state-owned company, Seacrest assumes the condition of operator of the four fields granted, in addition to the other production infrastructures.
The four fields at the North Capixaba Pole produced, in the first quarter of 2023, approximately 4,600 barrels of oil per day (bpd) and 21,800 cubic meters of natural gas per day. The amount corresponds to 3.3% of Petrobras’ production in Espírito Santo.
The operation was completed with the cash payment of US$ 426.65 million to Petrobras, which also received US$ 35.85 million on the day the contract was signed, on February 23 of last year. The state-owned company is also expected to receive up to US$ 66 million in contingent payments, depending on future quotations for the value of oil on the international market.
According to Petrobras, the transfer does not impact the other activities in Espírito Santo, where the company maintains operations in fields in deep waters, with emphasis on Parque das Baleias, in addition to seven exploratory areas. In all, the state-owned company continues with 14 platforms in the state and forecasts an increase in production by 2027.
