Petrobras approved a voluntary dismissal plan that could cover up to 1,100 company employees. The measure was approved by the state-owned company’s board of directors and announced this Monday (3). The company predicts that the layoffs will take place throughout 2026.
The company explained that The Voluntary Dismissal Program (PDV) is aimed at up to 1,100 employees who retired through the National Social Security Institute (INSS) before the enactment of the Constitutional Amendment 103/2019on November 12, 2019.
Better known as pension reform, the amendment changed the social security system and established transitional rules and transitional provisions.

The company justifies that the POS is a personal management tool that “offers retirees an opportunity for career transition while contributing to the continuous and gradual renewal of the company’s staff”.
In the statement to investors in which it announced the approval of the PDV, the company does not inform the cost of the program.
“The financial impact will be recognized in the financial statements as the additions are made,” explained Petrobras, which has 41,700 employees.
