The head of state questioned the operation in which Carranza died, which the US attributed to his fight against drug trafficking.
The president Gustavo Petro revealed that he met in Santa Marta with the family of fisherman Alejandro Carranza who died in a missile attack against a boat in the Caribbean by the United States. Carranza was the only civilian captured for this incident and accepted the charges of conspiracy to commit a crime, embezzlement by appropriation, falsification of a public document and aggravated theft.
