In the municipality of Suárez, Tolima, the Agrarian reform Advanza by turning historical debts and returning dignity to peasant families and ethnic communities in the region. Juan Felipe Harman Ortizdirector of the National Land Agency (ANT)delivered more than 1,165 hectares to peasants and peasants of the National Association of Peasant Users (ANUC) and LA National Agricultural Unitary Trade Union Federation (Fensuagro) in the department of Tolima.
These lands, voluntarily sold by private owners to the highest land authority of the Nation, are distributed in four properties: Hacienda la Duca, Coronelandia, Corozos and Fresh Waterlocated in the municipalities of Piedras, Suárez and Rovira. In total, 84 peasant families received these lands as a tool to sow peace and reconciliation, transforming pain into crops and fear into new opportunities for life and development in their territories.

This outdated debt represents an act of social justice and recognition of rights through access to land for 84 peasant families, which translates into empowerment, economic opportunities and hope for a country that seeks reconciliation and forgiveness through land and those who work it.

For the National Land Agency, returning the land to the peasantry is much more than a material delivery; represents return rights over the territory to those who work it and renew the trust and optimism of those who have taken care of those lands for generations.
In just three years, the government of President Gustavo Petro has complied with dignity to the Tolimense peasantry, through concrete actions and a constant presence in the territories.
