The president Gustavo Petro assured that the recent threats attributed to the National Liberation Army (ELN) are not directed against international leaders, but rather represent a direct threat against Colombiaits sovereignty and the historical project of regional integration inspired by Simon Bolivar.
Through its official account on the social network xthe president affirmed that the ELN lost its revolutionary meaning and its link with the social struggles of the country a long time ago.
According to Petro, the armed organization did not understand that “the most revolutionary thing” it could do was unite the “effective love” by Camilo Torres Restrepo with peace in Colombia, in a context of growing popular consciousness.
The head of state indicated that he gave direct orders to the Public Force to attack the ELN and defend the Colombian population against any threat, whether of internal or external origin.
