These measures will be made official with the respective decrees in the ministerial council that will be held on Monday in Casa de Nariño, measures that are added to the suspension of peace talks with the ELN.

Likewise, President Petro will be given extraordinary powers to adopt measures that lead to the restoration of public order, especially in Tibú, Ocaña and Cúcuta, which will quadruple the presence of the armed forces with four battalions in the region.
So far in Catatumbo more than 30 deaths have been reported, nearly 20 kidnapped, several injured and 300 displaced. people who have sought shelter in the urban area of Tibú, where the Ombudsman’s Office and other organizations are providing help and protection to these people.
