President Gustavo Petro assured that the victory of the Frente Amplio candidate, Yamandú Orsi, in the presidential elections of Uruguay reflects Latin America’s will to change.

“A big hug to Yamandú, new president of Uruguay. This victory reflects the will of the Latin American people for unity and change.“Petro expressed in a message published on the social network X.
The Broad Front formula, made up of Orsi and Carolina Cosse, got 1,179,454 votes, while that of Álvaro Delgado, candidate of the ruling National Party, achieved 1,086,758.

These numbers show that the Frente Amplio maintains an advantage of 92,696 votes and obtained 107,628 more votes than it had obtained in the first round of the presidential and parliamentary elections on October 27.
With a campaign focused on social justice, sustainable development and national unity, Orsi managed to win the majority support of the citizens, surpassing the official candidate Delgado.
