President Gustavo Petro arrives on the island of San Andrés this Sunday to assess the situation after the passage of Hurricane Julia this Saturday night.
After verifying the landing conditions and the weather, the president travels with the ministers of Health, Environment and Housing. Additional also arrives with the director of the Risk Management unit.
The president arrives after the passage of Hurricane Julia in San Andrés and the slight damage it left in this place, according to the government, help is also expected for the victims of La Guajira, one of the most affected areas, with 4,000 people.

Likewise, the government reported that CATAM, with the support of the Air Force, “is preparing the transfer of Emergency Humanitarian Assistance to serve the communities of La Guajira that have been affected by the heavy rains caused by the passage of Tropical Storm Julia”.
For now, the National Risk Management Unitreported that “although the phenomenon is moving away from the San Andrés and Providencia archipelago, it could be influenced by wind gusts of 64 km/h or more and possible precipitation associated with external bands of the system during the next few hours.”
