The Colombian President, Gustavo Petroarrived in Madrid this Tuesday, May 2, in what is his first visit as head of state to Spain, where he is expected to carry out various activities.
Petro, who arrived in the Iberian nation through the Barajas airport, has the mission of strengthening economic and commercial relations between Spain and Colombia, as well as discussing his “total peace” plan in Colombia; the dialogue between the ruling party and the Venezuelan opposition; migration and climate change, among other topics.
Along with the Colombian president is his wife, Verónica Alcocer, and the foreign ministers, Álvaro Leyva; Education, Aurora Vergara, and Commerce, Germán Umaña.
It is expected that on Wednesday, May 3, the state visit to Spain will officially begin; although during the day of this Tuesday he will visit the sixth edition of the Services Fair, a sample of Colombian entrepreneurs with whom he will hold a meeting.

The kings of Spain will receive the Colombian president and his wife at the Royal Palace; Petro will then move to Congress, where he will address the Spanish parliamentarians in the chamber, and then will make a floral offering in the Plaza de la Lealtad.
In the afternoon he will hold a meeting with Felipe VI; he will receive the golden key to the city at the Madrid town hall and will attend a gala dinner hosted by the kings of Spain, and on Thursday, May 4, he will open a business forum before moving to the Moncloa Palace, the seat of the Executive Spanish, to meet with Sánchez, with whom he will preside over the signing of various agreements.
