The Government of Colombia is “almost sure” of reaching an agreement soon on the first three points in the peace dialogue with the guerrillas of the National Liberation Army (ELN), which resumed on Monday in Venezuela after four years suspended, the Andean country’s high commissioner for peace, Iván Danilo Rueda, reported on Tuesday.

After the beginning of the negotiating table in Caracas, in the last few hours, President Gustavo Petro announced that the next Talks with President Nicolás Maduro would resume on November 25 and 26 and the Venezuelan opposition.
It should be remembered that the reopening of the border and the rapprochement with the neighboring country were one of the campaign flags of the leader of the Historical Pact. On November 1, Petro held his first meeting with Maduro in Caracas.
By 2019, the relationship with Venezuela reached its maximum breakdown after the Colombian government, under the leadership of Iván Duque, rrecognized Juan Guaidó as Venezuelan president.
After Petro came to power, relations began to resume. The first was the reopening of the land border and area with Venezuela in September of this year. One month after this decision the Bilateral trade between both countries totaled 2.5 million dollars.

According to the data presented by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, as of October 21, 67 cargo trucks have passed through the Simón Bolívar and Francisco de Paula Santander binational bridges.
