The leftist Petro and the populist Hernández will go to the second round in Colombia.
The left-wing candidate Gustavo Petro and the tycoon Rodolfo Hernández have been the most voted candidates in the first round of the Colombian presidential elections, according to official results corresponding to 25.9 percent of polling stations counted.
Specifically, Petro would have achieved 41.04 percent of the vote, while Hernández has given the surprise by adding more support than the conservative candidate Federico Gutiérrez and reaching 28.56 percent of the ballots.
Gutiérrez would be the third with 23.36 percent of the vote, while none of the other candidates exceeds 3%.
