According to recent data from Jockey Club of Peru, The total volume of bets during the first quarter of 2025 experienced a remarkable increase of 4.69% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching the figure of S/ 13’401,508.41.
This growth encouraging is aligned with the expectations of the Jockey Club for this year, where a 5%global increase is projected, as Danilo Chávez Abad, president of the institution, pointed out. This rebound represents positive news for both fans and the vast equestrian industry, a sport rooted in Peruvian history and has reaped important achievements internationally.
In addition to the increase in the total game volume, the average income per race also reflected an ascending trend. During the first three months of 2025, this indicator stood at S/ 35,832.91, which represents an increase of S/ 858.25 per race compared to the average recorded in the first quarter of 2024 (S/ 34,974.66).
The head of the Jockey Club of Peru, Danilo Chávez Abad, expressed his satisfaction and optimism before this panorama, highlighting the recovery that equestrian sport has experienced after a decade of decline sustained in the betting sector.
“We implemented a commercial strategy oriented to capture new audiences, which allowed usexplained Chávez Abad.
The president highlighted the strategic alliance with an important sports betting house in the country, the segmented use of social networks and the improvement of services on their online platform as key factors for this growth, which aspire to maintain and enhance in the future.

Finally, Chávez Abad reiterated the growth projection for the closure of 2025: “While there is still a way to go, these strategies allow us to glimpse an ascending trajectory and achieve an increase of 5% in the game volume at the end of the year, thus fulfilling our objectives set.”
It is important to remember that Peruvian equestrian constitutes a significant industry for the national economy, generating more than 15,000 direct and indirect jobs. Likewise, it raises the prestige of Peru at the international level, being the second country with the most victories in the Latin American Grand Prix, with 10 titles, only surpassed by Brazil with 11.
