The president of Perupetro, José Mantilla, ruled out the possibility that lots I and VI would be hand-delivered to Petroperu for it to operate. As explained, last Monday the deadline for submitting letters of interest for these spaces expired.

“It was always said that they were welcome to participate in this contest, but always also saying that they were going to be evaluated just like everyone else,” he added after participating in a forum organized by the Peruvian Hydrocarbons Society (SPH).
As detailed, the state company has presented its proposal, on the one hand in conjunction with a strategic partner, and on the other individually. Likewise, and when asked about the financial situation of the public company, José Mantilla stated that this will be seen in the evaluation process.
“Remember that there is an evaluation process that contemplates legal issues, economic-financial and technical issues. At this time we cannot rule out because there is certain information. This has to be quite objective,” he added.
Petroperu He is currently the temporary administrator of batch I and VI. Its president, Alejandro Narváez, reported a few weeks ago that they asked Perupetro to reconsider the tender and rejected that these lots be operated by the private sector.
The truth is that the contest continues and, according to the schedule, the good news would be on February 24.

OTHER LOTS
On the other hand, José Mantilla referred to the situation of Altamesa, a partner of Petroperu in lot 192. “There is no doubt that the partner who sought and decided to have Petroperú has had economic problems. There are non-compliance with the communities, with suppliers and I understand that at this time (both companies) are talking to make final decisions about what what is going to be done,” he added.
Likewise, he pointed out that regarding lot Z-69, he noted that they have requested information to know what the conditions will be for how the model for the bidding will work because the assets belong to the public company.
“As they are the owners of the assets, they can tell us ‘I will provide the assets as a participation in the consortium’, or ‘I will deliver the assets, launch the tender and I will charge a rent. That is the starting point,” he highlighted.
In addition, he specified that regarding the Candamo lots, Pluspetrol has not signed any agreement. What has been done is to request technical evaluation agreements for the lots that are close to those of Camisea
