Perumin 37 was inaugurated in Arequipa with the presence of authorities and diplomatic corps

Perumin 37 He began his activities today at the Juli Cerro Convention Center, with the inauguration of his Minera Technological Exhibition (Extemin). The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Energy and Mines, Jorge Montero, the regional governor of Arequipa, Rohel Sánchez; the president of Congress, José Jerí; The German ambassador to Peru, Sabine Bloch, local authorities and representatives of the diplomatic corps.

The traditional tape cut marked the beginning of a week in which Peruvian mining will exhibit innovation, technology and multisectoral dialogue. At the ceremony, Jimena Sologuren, president of Perumin 37, stressed that this fair congregates more than 800 companies and delegations from 16 countries, with Germany as an allied nation.

“Extemin goes far beyond being a commercial showcase: it is a scenario to approach and see how technology can help us build an increasingly sustainable, competitive and close mining to communities,” he said. He also greeted the participation of young professionals and the 37 fellows of Perumin from 20 regions of the country, who represent the future of the industry.

For his part, Darío Zegarra, president of the Institute of Mining Engineers of Peru (IIMP), stressed that Extemin is a reflection of the industry’s commitment to innovation, sustainability and the generation of opportunities.

“Our industry can only be sustained and legitimized over time if it is done in a responsible, transparent and focused on people. Each stand and each technological proposal are a message of trust towards Peru and to the communities,” he said.

The inauguration also highlighted initiatives such as Perumin Hub, Perumin inspica, the TIS forum and the Alameda of the Academy, which recognize innovation, research and entrepreneurship in the sector.

With this opening, Perumin 37 begins its academic, technical and commercial activities, consolidating itself as one of the most important mining events in the region and a key platform to discuss the social, environmental and economic challenges of Peruvian and world mining.
