The end of the Libertadores Cup of 2025, which was won last Saturday by Flamengo by 0-1 at Palmeirasgenerated an economic impact of about 70 million dollars (60 million euros), after the arrival in Lima of approximately 50,000 Brazilian tourists. This was reported a few hours ago by the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) in a statement in which it highlighted that the definition of the continental club tournament, which was played for the second time at the Monumental Stadium of the Universitario de Deportes, “has had an enormous impact and relevance for the country.”
The FPF cited information published by the newspaper ‘El Comercio’, with official data from the Peruvian Government and Conmebol, which gave “an account of very important figures,” as it indicated. “50 thousand Brazilian tourists arrived in Peru, generating more than 70 million dollars in favorable economic impact for Peruvian families,” he confirmed.
In that sense, the federation highlighted that “the story goes far beyond the simple dispute of a soccer match,” since income was generated in hotels, travel expenses, mobility, purchases, suppliers, services and investment in the Monumental’s infrastructure. “Being in the eyes of the world will continue to open doors and opportunities for an industry like sports and for Peru as a real option to be a viable place for the organization of events of such international stature,” he indicated.
