In the evening hours of the last Thursday, November 4, Peru Libre issued an official statement after the vote of confidence in the ministerial cabinet chaired by Mirtha Vásquez was approved. With 19 votes in favor and 16 against, the ruling party explained the reason for its rejection of the cabinet and assured that they made this decision because they are “against the groups that lead the Palace hand in hand with the NGOs.”
Likewise, the party explained that there are two different positions within its bench and that, despite the discrepancies, in this debate of the vote of confidence, there is the possibility that they will again make decisions en bloc unanimously.
“We recognize the existence of two positions within the bench since the beginning of the government, we have many coincidences, but also discrepancies, as on this occasion, which does not imply that later on we will not say making decisions in a majority or unanimous bloc. This contradiction is natural if we pay attention to the dialectical category of the unity and struggle of opposites ”, the statement reads.

Likewise, the bench made it clear that they are not in favor of some type of vacancy and that despite being against the decision, they are a party that believes in elections and will act democratically.
“We make it clear that we are against any attempt to vacate the presidency, close the Congress or parliamentary coup, the people chose and we must respect their decision, as well as we must respect their expectations placed on the government program they chose, “the statement concluded.
