Peru This Sunday, December 4, the second electoral round is celebrated to elect the governors of nine provinces: Amazonas, Cajamarca, Callao, Cusco, Lambayeque, Lima, Moquegua, Pasco and Piura.
Almost seven million voters were authorized for these elections. Lieutenant governors will also be chosen on the day.
The National Jury of Elections (JNE) of Peru reported that around noon this Sunday, there were 96% of polling stations installed. “In some areas such as Callao, Oxapampa, Chachapoyas and Bagua, among others, there are tables not installed that do not allow reaching 100%,” the agency said.
The President of the JNE, Jorge Luis Salas Arenas, expressed his satisfaction because the efforts made by the electoral organizations for the preservation of democracy, in Peru, are strengthened by the correct development of the actions in the second electoral round.

On the other hand, representatives of various countries make up the observer mission of the Inter-American Union of Electoral Organizations that are in five regions of Peru.
The JNE urged the voters of the nine regions of Peru participating in the elections, “to exercise their right to vote in a timely and responsible manner, likewise the polling station members on whom the right to vote of 200 or 300 citizens who vote depends at every polling station.”
