Peru ensures cooperation with Japan until 2033: countries announced roadmap

With the aim of strengthening and energizing ties, Peru and Japan agreed to follow a roadmap until 2033. The cooperation includes a total of 61 projects and was developed within the framework of the visit of the Prime Minister of Japan, Shigueu Ishiba to Lima to participate inl APEC Forum 2024.

“Today we have approved the joint declaration to strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between Peru and Japan, which is accompanied by a roadmap that guides joint work for the next ten years, organized into the political-diplomatic, economic, of bilateral, social and person-to-person cooperation, and security and defense,” the President Dina Boluarte after the meeting at the Government Palace.

The aforementioned roadmap establishes five priority pillars for cooperation between both nations over the next ten years. Both Governments are committed to strengthening political dialogue and addressing common challenges.

“I thank everyone present for paying special importance to the development of ties of friendship and cooperation between Peru and Japan, and I invite you to contribute directly to building the beginning of a new stage of 150 years of deep and beneficial friendship for our towns,” commented the dignitary.
