Peru Cup player dies in accident in Piura

A young Peru Cup player lost his life in a traffic accident, in in the province of Morropón, Piura region.

The accident occurred at 4:04 in the afternoon on last Wednesday, January 1, on the Piura – Huancabamba highway, Pueblo Nuevo hamlet, in Buenos Aires.

According to the first investigations, the Peru Cup player, Manuel Eduardo Farfán González (23 years old), from the Caysa de Yapatera club of the Peru Cup, affectionately known as “Chocolate”, got lost on his motorcycle.

The accident occurred in circumstances in which Farfán was driving a motorcycle and hit some railings of a bridge, causing injuries to the soccer player.

As a result of the impact, the player was seriously injured and, although he was evacuated to the nearest health center, the doctors only certified his death.

Meanwhile, his passenger, Jhon Erik Ojeda More (21 years old), was injured and admitted to the Chulucanas hospital.

Farfán was a promising figure in local football and much loved for his talent on and off the field. His death leaves a deep void in his family, friends and teammates.
