Peru Cup: Bolognesi qualifies but ends with a player in the hospital

After beating Unión Mirave 1-0, Coronel Bolognesi’s team secured their qualification for the final group stage of the departmental phase of the Peru Cup in the match played this afternoon at the Jorge Basadre stadium.

The red team scored in the 42nd minute through Christopher Joe, who took advantage of Renzo de los Ríos’ pass to beat the Mirave fence. In the second half there were more opportunities for both casts but they lacked to define in the last line.

The referee added five minutes, but in the 96th minute striker Cristopher Joo collapsed on the field after a strong tackle by Anthony Vargas, prompting paramedics to take him out unconscious on a stretcher. The referee showed red card to Vargas and the meeting ended. From the Unanue hospital they reported that Joo was diagnosed with mild cranial brain trauma.

Six points in the bag

With these three points earned on the court and the three obtained on the table, after the claim against Unión Mirave for fielding Sebastián Higa on July 10 despite having five yellow cards, Bolognesi has 6 points and ensures its classification to the final “hexagonal” of the departmental stage of the Peru Cup.

This Sunday they face each other at 3:00 p.m. at the Jorge Basadre stadium, Virgen de la Natividad VS Juventud Locumba; at 2:00 p.m. at the municipal stadium of Candarave Social Santa Cruz VS Defensor Ticaco; and at 2 pm in the municipal stadium of Ticaco Águila Melgar VS Alba Roja.
