At the start of Mario Abdo Benítez’s administration, a scheme was set up -from government units- to persecute Horacio Cartes. Information loaded with political bias with a single purpose, to harm the adversary on duty, was presented as valid abroad, according to lawyer Pedro Ovelar.
From the statements of Eduardo Petta, on the formation of Abdo’s cabinet with former prosecutors to investigate Horacio Cartes, the response of the lawyer Pedro Ovelar can be deduced, regarding the scheme set up by the current Government against the former president.
“He committed a sincericide, he was vain because he wanted to highlight what they did against Horacio Cartes, but it shows that, ignoring constitutional norms, they formed a team to persecute a political adversary, setting up a scheme from government units, and then, with the foreign service, take that information as valid, with a political bias interested in harming HC “said the lawyer Pedro Ovelar, in an interview with Universo-Nación Media radio.
He considered that many media owners, some journalists and some members of the Government, as well as many people from the opposition, they live in a “microclimate of hate”, persecution, lies and arbitrariness.
“It is these rude people of what can eventually be the destruction of jobs, because of the hatred they have for Horacio Cartes, what I am sure is that they are not the majority,” he opined.
