The Cartist senator Enrique Riera and the economist José Luis Rodríguez Tornaco harshly questioned the statements of Eduardo Petta, who publicly confirmed that the government of Mario Abdo Benítez persecuted Horacio Cartes at the beginning of his term and that he did so by appointing former prosecutors to key positions in his cabinet.

He warned that tomorrow the same can be done against any citizen. “Investigations are carried out outside the Prosecutor’s Office,” he said, extremely concerned.
While the lawyer Pedro Ovelar stated that these statements cast doubt on all the information provided by the Government to the estates of the United States and that led to an escalation of statements through the US embassy in Asunción, coinciding with the electoral periods that take place in the country.
