Peronist leaders propose "bridges" at the FdT, days after Cristina's speech

Peronist leaders from different spheres of action, including national officials, governors, legislators and mayors from Buenos Aires, began to get involved in the debates that are going through the Frente de Todos (FdT) to promote agreements between those who refer to President Alberto Fernández and those who they do in Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.

FdT mediators seek to build bridges and prioritize management both in the Nation and in the province of Buenos Aires, in search of results for the first months of 2023 and with the aspiration that an improvement in the economic situation will be one of the Government’s cards at the beginning of the defining section of the election campaign.

However, the pulse of the FdT is in these hours crossed by the expectations generated by the Announced speech by the Vice President at the unique Diego Maradona stadium in La Platawhere next Thursday she will be presented as the only speaker, while among the militancy identified with the ‘national and popular’ space The request grows that Fernández de Kirchner head the presidential ticket.

There, on a field that the organizers promise to fill, the little song will sound again “President Christina” that is becoming the common slogan for those who identify with Kirchnerism and that is reminiscent of the chant “Let’s go back” that became widespread in the second stage of Mauricio Macri’s administration.

In this framework, the different sectors of the coalition await some indication or announcement, be it explicit or inferred, about What will be the steps of the former president regarding her future in the face of next year’s elections: everyone agrees that her candidacy will be defined by herself shortly before those stipulated by the Law.

Crosses in the coalition

A few days after November 17, this week reproaches and replies circulated that raised the tension and that could be summed up in criticism of Alberto Fernández’s management by leaders of the Buenos Aires PJ, including the Minister of Community Development Andres ‘Crow’ Larroque and the head of the block of provincial senators of the FdT Theresa Garciaand responses from the Minister of Security, Hannibal Fernandez.

The crossovers within the coalition also included counterpoints from central figures of the FdT, such as the deputy and head of the Buenos Aires PJ Máximo Kirchner, who seven days ago asked to discard “personal adventures” at the closing ceremony of the party congress in Mar del Plata, and President Alberto Fernández, who the following day quoted, not coincidentally, a phrase attributed to Perón: “Whoever criticizes a comrade ceases to be one.”

A few days later, a delegation of Buenos Aires mayors who are in dialogue with the Vice President met with the head of state in the Eva Perón room of the Casa Rosada to analyze the social problems in Greater Buenos Aires and review the execution of public works in march in their districts.

With the priority placed on management issues, the referents of traditional justicialism with anchorage in the municipalities of the suburbs ask in any case to relaunch a discussion table of Peronism to prevent differences from being publicly processed.

In off, more than one governor and mayor acknowledges his “annoyance and concern” about the lack of dialogue between sectors of the FdTa situation that was foreseen early by some members of the coalition, who – alerted by these perspectives – built links with representatives of the two spaces.

This willingness to dialogue with everyone now allows them to join the group of those who “build bridges.”

They are the chief of staff, Juan Manzur; the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa; the Deputy Chief of Staff, Juan Manuel Olmos; the Minister of the Interior, Eduardo ‘Wado’ de Pedro; Governors Gerardo Zamora (Santiago del Estero), Jorge Capitanich (Chaco) and Gildo Insfrán (Formosa); the mayors Alberto Descalzo (Ituzaingó), Jorge Ferraresi (Avellaneda) and Fernando Espinoza (La Matanza); and the national deputy Eduardo Valdés.

Like Valdés, the now mayor of Hurlingham, John Zabaletaand the Minister of Public Works, Gabriel Katopodisare figures close to Alberto Fernández who Last week they participated in both the UOM plenary, where the Vice President spoke, and the Buenos Aires PJ congress, led by Máximo Kirchner.

While dissimilar strategies and jerks are observed at the national level, all the sectors of Peronism in the province of Buenos Aires, the most important on the electoral roll with almost 40% of the voters, agree on unity and dialogue without ceasing to recognize the leadership of the head of the Senate, who has her main flow of votes in that area of the Province of Buenos Aires.

One of those who raised the banner of unity and valued the implications of the Mar del Plata party congress was Espinoza from Matanzas, who remarked: “Here is the Peronism of the province of Buenos Aires, united and on the march, to consolidate the victory in next year’s elections, to once again have a Peronist President and to once again have a Peronist Governor”.

In a week that will have the head of state out of Argentina, since he was invited by Emmanuel Macron to participate in the summit for Peace in Paris and will attend the meeting of G20 leaders in Bali, Indonesia, the expectations of politics and Peronism are deposited in the act that will take place on Thursday in La Plata, for the Day of Militancy.
