The plenary session of the Permanent Commission approved a package of 10 opinions, among them the exhortation to the Ministry of the Interior to make known the National Program to Prevent, Punish and Eradicate Crimes in the Matter of Trafficking in Persons and for the Protection and Assistance to the Victims of these Crimes, corresponding to 2022-2024.
The president of the First Committee, the morenista senator Lucía Meza, said that the unit should publish the program, in order to reduce this crime.
The point of agreement endorsed by the plenary highlights that according to official figures from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System, so far in 2022 there have been 411 complaints of human trafficking, a figure higher than those reported in the same period of 2021.
Likewise, it points out that during the covid-19 pandemic, trafficking multiplied exponentially and affected more population groups in a situation of greater marginalization and insecurity, such as women, girls and people in a situation of irregular mobility. For this reason, the document emphasizes that It is urgent that government actions of prevention, attention, punishment, persecution, protection and assistance be strengthened from this national program
.
Likewise, the initiative of the Political Coordination Board (Jucopo) was entered with which, in compliance with the ruling of the upper chamber, it requests that an extraordinary period of sessions be called to elect a MC deputy as a member of the Permanent.
Noé Castañón, senator from MC, asked for it to be an urgent resolution, but the deputies from Morena Juan Ramiro Robledo and Leonel Godoy stated that Jucopo did not request it with that nature, so the correct thing to do was send it to commissions, in which will discuss in depth. By a majority of votes from Morena and the Labor and Green parties, they took turns in commissions.
On the other hand, the coordinator of the PRD senators, Miguel Ángel Mancera, reported that the Permanent Commission received notification from the TEPJF to include said party in its next integration, which will be installed in the recess from December 15 to January 30. next.
Mancera stressed that the upper chamber of the TEPJF specified that there are no arguments to exclude the Aztec sun, but the decision of the Jucopo in the Senate violated the principle of maximum effective representation, which violated his electoral political right to be voted on the slope of exercise of office.
