Permanent Commission approves requesting the PJ to prevent the departure of Betssy Chávez from the country

The Permanent Commission of approved today to request the Judiciary to impose an impediment to the ex-ministers from leaving the country and before the possibility of evading justice for the investigations that are followed after the coup d’état by Pedro Castillo.

With 18 votes in favor, 3 against and 0 abstentions, this body accepted the request presented by legislator Lady Camones (APP), president of the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations, due to the inclusion of both former ministers in the final report prepared by said working group based on the constitutional complaint filed by the Prosecutor’s Office.

Only the Fujimorista Hernando Guerra García, the Perulibrista Jaime Quito and Edgar Reymundo, from Cambio Democrático, opposed this request.

the National Prosecutor, Patricia Benavides, had already required Parliament to take this measure to guarantee that Chávez and Sánchez are subject to the investigation proceedings.
