The pre-candidate for the presidential elections, César Pérez Vivas, assured this Monday, March 13, that if he arrived in Miraflores, he would point to a new economic model for democracy and stressed that Venezuela can match Germany, Sweden or Norway, in its ability to generate wealth and reduce poverty.
In this sense, Pérez Vivas pointed out that “the solution is not to leave a statist economy to an exclusively mercantilist economy. A market economy, with a clear social and environmental commitment, should be our north, indicated the candidate who aspires to be a voter on October 22, the date on which the primaries of the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD) will take place.

In economic matters, the also ex-governor of Táchira expressed that a transparent and ambitious privatization plan for the set of state-owned companies and opening up to the private economy must be carried out.
“Such a process of privatization and opening must begin with our oil and petrochemical industry. The state does not have the resources to relaunch it and we must resort to private, national and international capital to relaunch it,” he added.
Manual process
On February 22, the pre-candidate said that he advocates a manual primary election process with automated transmission. The leader does not rule out the support of the National Electoral Council (CNE).
He reiterated his support for the work carried out by the National Primary Commission and indicated that “we are going to have to request some assets that belong to the Electoral Power, that are not from the PSUV, for example, the Permanent Electoral Registry.”
He stressed the importance of making use of the tools that the National Electoral Council can offer for the elections, without bias.
