Pereira participated in a new meeting of the conference “The Broad Front Listens to You”, this time in Rivera. The inputs that are built in the more than three thousand meetings will be part of the national FA program.
“The Broad Front wants to be the alternative to a model that is failing, because the government is making increasingly wrong decisions and follows a model that is failing in security, economy and social policies,” he questioned.
The president of the FA stated that in the economy, the government lowered wages consecutively for two years, lowered retirement benefits and pensions, including the minimum ones. In addition, people go to hospitals and “cannot find medicines and in that emergency they begin to look for hope.”
He also questioned that from the government “no one can explain why the port of Montevideo was handed over, without a legal or economic report to back it up.”
He added: Nor could anyone explain why 9 million dollars were given to private channels so that Uruguayans can watch something on their cell phones that they already watch on open television, or why cable operators are allowed to put the Internet in homes, when The decision to declare an article of a Law unconstitutional does not imply that the concession is granted to this or that, but rather that it is empowered to grant it.”
“We are facing a situation of a government that I don’t know if it lost its way or never had it. Of a policy and a model that failed in terms of applying its public policies and campaign breaches,” Pereira remarked.
