A earthquake perceptible in the provinces of Santiago de Cuba and Guantánamo was reported in the early hours of this Sunday by the National Center for Seismological Research (Cenais).
According to the notification, the epicenter of this new shock was located about 40 kilometers southwest of Caimanera and its magnitude reached 3.4 on the Richter scale.

According to the network of Cenais stations, the new earthquake occurred at 01:46 am this Sunday, August 28.
In information from the journalist Cuscó Tarradel, shared by the Guantanamo newspaper overcome on his Facebook profile, the new tremor alarmed thousands of residents, many of them in the midst of scheduled blackouts.
This is the fifth perceptible earthquake for Cuba so far this year. Last June, another earthquake was reported in the vicinity of Caimanera, although it had a magnitude of 4.0.
