Starting this Wednesday (22), the city of São Paulo begins the application of the second booster dose – 4th dose – against covid-19 in people over 45 years old, provided they have received the 3rd dose for at least four months. . The population of this age group can also be vaccinated against the flu.
The expansion of the second additional dose (DA2) for the population aged between 40 and 49 years will occur in stages in the capital. In all, 1,020,863 people over 45 years old are eligible for DA2, with about 500,000 aged between 45 and 49 years old. The city has enough doses and supplies for vaccination of the new groups announced, according to the city hall. For those aged 50 and over, DA2 is also available.
People with a high degree of immunosuppression, aged 50 years or older, and at least four months after the last dose are eligible to receive the third additional dose – the 5th dose.
Vaccination coverage
So far, 32,459,295 doses of vaccine against covid-19 have been administered in the capital, with 11,8006,839 first doses (D1), 11,147,647 second doses (D2), 364,343 single doses (DUs), 7,489,111 first doses. additional doses (DA1) and 1,651,355 second additional doses (DA2).
Vaccination coverage of the population over 18 years old is 110.4% for D1, 107% for D2, 79.5% for DA1 and 65.6% for DA2.
In adolescents aged 12 to 17 years, 980,467 D1 were applied, representing a vaccination coverage of 116.2%. 884,583 D2 were also applied, with 104.8% coverage, in addition to 153,220 DA.
In children aged 5 to 11 years, 996,052 D1 were applied, representing a vaccination coverage of 92%, and 748,452 D2, reaching 69.1% of those eligible.
