“We are here because it is urgent. Not only for the attack on the flotilla, but for the life and freedom of Palestine,” said Zuleika Matamoros, teacher and activist. He pointed out that “as citizens of the world, we must assume the commitment to demand the end of extermination and support those who risk everything to bring humanitarian aid,” while recalling, that repression and siege of Gaza are not isolated, but part of an occupation that extends since 1948.
The concentration was marked by the force of the slogans: “From the river to the sea, Palestine will beat!”; “Long live the struggle of the Palestinian people!”, And the echo of voices, exclamations and palms that accompanied each cry.
“We cannot turn a blind eye to a genocide broadcast live and live, told by their own victims,” said another of the speakers, stressing that more than 270 journalists have been killed in Gaza, an unprecedented figure since World War II.
