The National Water and Basic Sanitation Agency (ANA) opened, this Monday (25), a public consultation so that the population can participate in the process of changing the policy that defines the procedures for charging for the direct collection of water from water sources. country, effluent release and basin transposition. Anyone can contribute until 6pm on January 9, 2025.
To collaborate, you need to access the ANA Social Participation Systemlearn about the proposal with the changes to the resolutions that deal with the topic and identify yourself through the gov.br account. On the website it is also possible to access contributions from other participants.
Among the proposed changes is the unification of charges for the year following the use of the water resource, in the seven interstate basins: Doce, Grande, Paraíba do Sul, Paranaíba, PCJ (Piracicaba, Capivari and Jundiaí), São Francisco and Verde Grande.
There will be a transition rule only for users of the waters of the Doce, Paraíba do Sul and PCJ river basins, who will be able to request to accumulate the charges from previous years over the next three years.
It is also possible to give an opinion on the value established for the year 2025, which will be applied to the charge per basin, based on the type of use in relation to the volume of water consumed or reached.
According to a note released by ANA, the charge does not constitute a tax or tariff on sanitation services. It is a payment for the use of water used in depollution actions, recovery of water bodies, encouragement of clean technologies that save natural resources, after choosing the measures by the respective river basin committee.
