Pensioners who work as delivery workers and drivers through applications could be affected by the reform initiative to formalize this sector, since it involves registering them again in Social Security and returning them to the mandatory regime with an employer.
There are also those who work independently and contribute resources to the IMSS to improve their retirement, under Modality 40, warned workers who are employed on digital platforms.
They pointed out that those who are in these cases will be left in the dilemma of losing their pension to continue working as delivery workers or drivers, or stop doing so to preserve their rights. They asked labor authorities and legislators to clarify what will happen to those who are in this situation, once the initiative is sent to the Chamber of Deputies.
