The objective of Law 2381 of 2024, which still needs the final approval by the Constitutional Court for its application is to offer a more fair and sustainable old age systemthrough several social protection pillars: one contributory, another solidarity, a semicontributive scheme and a voluntary individual savings component.
One of the main changes is the progressive reduction of the number of weeks required for women to pension. Today 1,300 weeks are required, but with the reform that figure would decrease to 1,000 in 2036.
