From February onwards, the monthly MEI (Individual Microentrepreneur) contribution to Social Security will be readjusted. The correction reflects the impact of the new minimum wage value that came into force this month. With the increase, MEIs in general will pay R$75.90, while MEI truck drivers will pay R$182.16. In the case of truck drivers, the value can reach R$188.16, depending on the type of product transported and the destination of the shipment.
The change in value comes into effect when paying the February 2025 bill, as the payment always refers to the previous month. Payment is made through the DAS (Simples Nacional Collection Document), which, in addition to the social security contribution, collects the taxes owed by the MEIs. The DAS expires on the 20th of each month and can be issued directly on the Simples Nacional portal or through the MEI app, available for iOS and Android.
In addition to the monthly payment, individual microentrepreneurs must also pay attention to the deadline for settling debts with the Federal Revenue Service. To remain in Simples Nacional in 2025, both MEIs and micro and small companies have until January 31st to regularize their tax issues.
With the payment of the monthly contribution, MEI guarantees access to retirement due to age and other benefits, as long as it meets the required requirements.
