The Pemón ethnic group issued a statement ratifying that all tourist activity in the Kusari tepuy, in the Gran Sabana, is prohibited because they seek to protect the “sanctuary of the ancestors.”

But they not only banned tourism. In the text, endorsed by the captain general of the Pemón ethnic group, Domingo Castro, the overflight of the area by helicopters, planes and drones was prohibited. In order to do so, they must have prior authorization and consultation with the Pemón Kamarakoto people.

Similarly, the demand to the national authorities that commercial activity is not allowed in the tepuy area and less those of “questioned morality” such as “sleepovers, orgies and related parties” was emphasized, the portal reported. Radio Faith and Joy.

SOS Orinoco, an NGO dedicated to making visible and documenting the problems of the Amazon, Orinoquia and the Venezuelan Guayana, denounced the Sunday February 6 on its portal that a group of people held a party on top of one of the tepuyes of the Canaima National Park, recognized by UNESCO as a “World Natural Heritage Site” since 1994.

At the party, held on the Kusari tepuy, the well-known Titina Penzini, the public relations specialist Aura Marina Hernández, and even the so-called “Czar of Beauty”, Osmel Souza, were present. According to the First Report portal, the celebration was organized by businessmen linked to the administration of Nicolás Maduro who have authorizations to market tourism to Canaima, controlled in the first instance by the businessman president of Grupo La Marea, Rafael Oliveros.

Subsequently, the Minister of Ecosocialism, José Lorca Vega, together with the head of the Ministry of Tourism, Alí ​​Padrón, announced on friday february 11 the beginning of a sanctioning process against Oliveros for the “megarrumba” that took place in the Kusari tepuy.
